The BSA National Council has made Youth Protection Training available online. Completion of this training is essentially required for all adult leaders, since National and Local BSA tour (travel) permits will soon require that at least one adult leader on each trip have this training. This is a comprehensive, high-quality training seminar, dealing with a difficult subject in a professional manner. All adult leaders are encouraged to take this training as soon as possible. At the completion of the online training you’ll be asked to take a short multiple-choice test to confirm your learning, and then be given the opportunity to report your training to the Gamehaven Council.
Parents: you’ll find the Youth Protection Training program to be quite informative about the many affirmative policies the BSA enforces to protect your son. Parents are encouraged to take the training, as well — you can never tell when a great leadership opportunity may present itself !

Time Committment
If you’re using a regular telephone dialup connection to the Internet, plan to spend 2-3 hours to complete the online training. You may be able to complete the training in less time if you have a high-speed Internet connection and/or if you select the “audio off” option and just read the script.
